can i put a password on it? so people can't nosy through my stuff?

i dont want to buy any programs if possible.

Some pen drives come with driver cd which includes password protect, however this function is 'leaky' for example going to start -> run -> browse, allows me to access my files without password.

If the files you want private are ms office documents, office has a built in password system,

Save As, Tools (top right) -> security.

Just make sure the pen drive you buy has password protection and you'll be fine. Most cheaper ones dont.

Store all files in a folder on the pen drive, then encrypt the folder.
