People from Spain speak Castilian Spanish. The Latin American Spaniards speak a slightly different type. Some words are pronounced differently.

"Latin American" spanish is an more indigenous version of Castilian Spanish, which is what is spoken in Spain--kind of like how the people in the USA speak "english", but it's not the "King's English" as spoken in Great Britain.

the same difference between british english and american english... only the accent and some different slangs and words. Latin american spanish has also different accents, Mexican accen it's rather different than Argentinian accent
