you cannot create a folder with this names:

com1
com2
com3
....
lpt1
lpt2
....
nul
con
prn

why?
because they are reserved by windows and refers to special devices!

of course but Create one new folder click right side cursor and rename the folder name that it.

NO you cannot create a folder named "CON" or "con" in windows
no one knows why...even Bill Gates is unable to explain this phenomenon

because of the fact it is an previous DOS ingredient. you could no longer (nicely, there's a manner tho) create folders named "lpt1", com1, lpt2, com2 etc. yet returned... there's a manner!!!! To create it run this command: md .c:con to make certain it exist run this command: dir c: To delete it: rd .c:con

'CON' is a command used in MS-DOS. all OS's, including WinXP, save these commands for using DOS. so stuff like CON and PRN cannot be used as folder names
[PRN = print]

I found how to create a folder or file named CON ..

STEP1: goto command prompt

STEP2: type in prompt e:\> "mkdir \\.\e:\con"

STEP3: verify by typing "dir \\.\e:\con"

STEP4: delete the file or folder "rmdir \\.\e:\con"
