About three hours ago a man and woman tried to rob me. They were taxi cab passengers. He tried to put a wire over my head and around my throat, but fortunately, I'm a fat head and faster, so he caught it on my chin. I grabbed it with my left hand and engaged the transmission with my right hand. I got the car up tp 25 when he gave up and jumped. He's gonna feel it in the morning. Police caught the woman.

I'm feeling it in my chest and my throat hurts from where the wire briefly slipped off my chin and came around my neck as the car surged forward. I went back to work after all the paperwork was done.

Having a little trouble sleeping after getting home at 4 AM, but it may be my own fault, drank some caffinated soda. Also nearly forgot to take my pills, which also included Toprol for my heart. Also two pain killers from severe injuries from a semi truck wreck in 1988.

Don't seem to be bothered about what happened. All together, it was less than five seconds from the time he said "Give me all your money" to when he was diving out of the cab as I gained speed. A rather short time period.

Your body and your mind have been through quite an ordeal, unfortunately, I think it's going to just take some time. You may not sleep tonight at all. I suppose the best thing to try to do is something you enjoy.

Have you taken any tylenol or ibuprofen? That will help the physical pain.

I'm sure your mind keeps re-living the event over and over and over. You've got to be angry even though you "escaped". If that's what keeping you "up" then you need to distract your mind....do something that makes you stop thinking about it. When you do think about it....tell yourself...it's over....I'm not going there anymore...it's done...I did everything right...it's time to move on.

I'm really glad your O.K.. If your neck continues to bother you may need to see a doctor. Are you having any difficulty swallowing or breathing?

That was a tramatic experience and it may take you awhile before you will get 'back to normal'. You had your life threatened. Not something to be taken lightly. I would take the rest of the night off and relax. Try not to think about it, if you can and maybe even a good cry will release all the pent up emotions that you have right now. Could help you rid yourself of the adreneline.
Glad to know you are ok otherwise!

You should consider seeing a counselor to prevent PTSD. A good counselor could really help with the stress.
