Right Click on Mycomputer
Properties
Goto Advanced Tab
Click on Settings Button in Performance Frame
Goto Advanced Tab
Click On Change
Set Min Sze to Atleast 500MB
And Max Size to Atleast a GB(1024 MB)
Note: the Max size must not exceed 4096 MB Because WinXP Wont support RAM more than 4GB.

If you mean a PC with Windows, you cannot increase virtual memory used by a single application above 2 GB. With 64 bit Windows it can be much larger. Shared virtual memory uses the pagefile on disk. With default settings, Windows increases this automatically when needed. You can change this to fixed size or minimum/maximum size and change the disk/partition via (Win XP) Control Panel, System, Advanced, Performance Settings, Advanced, Virtual Memory Change.
Even with 2 GB, there might be out of virtual memory messages when using varying large amounts of data. Each request requires a contiguous address space in a 2 GB table. With Win XP, I could not allocate space for a second 512 MB image when less than 1 GB was being used, as the table was fragmented due to previous use. This was with a benchmark program that I was writing.
