Well firstly Limewire is all to do with file sharing which is not legal! I use it and i love it. You have to be careful. Limewire contains something called Adware. This means that once you have reached a limit of 900 files, Limewire will send a massive bill to your address. Limewire hold all of your details like your name, address and telephone number. Maybe even your bank details. If you don't pay this bill, Limewire will take it from your bank. To avoid this from happening, make a new folder and save all of your files to that folder so Limewire don't have a track of it.
Well, i hope this tells you the disadvantages of Limewire.

Livewire, Limewire and other P2P programs are NOT illegal for the creators/owners but IS illegal for those using the programs to share copyrighted files and materials.

Since the program itself has no dedicated server to store or transfer files to/through, the program and its makers are not liable. These programs allow users to transfer files directly from one user to another without the middle man, being the program itself.

Every file that users download is one file that he/she did not pay for, thus it is stealing of copyrighted material. The user is then liable for these downloads.

And don't think your ISP is not monitoring this because they are. They may not say anything about it at first, but if you become a frequent stealer of copyrighted material, you may just get a letter in the mail from them asking you to stop before they seek litigation. It happened to my brother.

it is legal cause the company "limewire" doesn'tt actually host the files unlike Napster, However you are breaking the law by hosting files if you use limewire to do so.

It is bad cause it is notorious for giving your computer viruses.

Utorrent is better, however there is only one way to get free music legally and it is through sites like orbitfiles.com.

I hope this helps you out a little.

its illegal to share copywrited info/music/files

so basically......unless u r downloading something that doesnt belong to anyone..its ok

but....just think for a second, say ur a musician who just spent 3 months in a recording studio making a new album

it probably costed upwards of a million dollars

would you want people who r too lazy and cheap to buy the album listening to ur music???

if u share music ur stealing from the artist

so limewire is 100 percent illigal

Yes it's legal. I downloaded it and the only thing that made me not like it was the SPAM that I kept getting....so I deleted it.
