Empathy is something lacking in the free world today. With lives running on high speed and the human factor now removed because of the electronic age, empathy takes respect, good ears and above all, the human touch. Empathy is your answer. People still need people and it is time we all relearned this. Empathy is understanding. Sympathy is pity without understanding. We need more empathy, it helps us fit in more and not feel so alone in a crowded tea shop.

I never like sympathy expressed in any form, and in fact I do not ever require an ear: I'm a dinosaur - I was taught that men contain and support. I do love tea, however, and always enjoy good conversation on any number of topics.

I go door to door sales for 20 years.and so many times an older person needs me to listen to them.sometimes they wont me to do some thing for them.so I do. I took a older lady to the grocery store once, on a saturday when I was really doing well. but I could nt turn her down..I quess you would call that empathy, In the South a lot of people will invite you to come sit on the pourch when its hot and give you some sweet tea.or just give you a cup to go..and usually ask if I wont lemon with it.I am away now from the upstate of S.C. and I truly miss my 90.000 or so customers. I paint address numbers on curbs and driveways
