Which model?

X5 vs Cayenne - BMW
M-coupe vs Cayman - Porsche
M-roadser vs Boxster - It's a draw
M3 vs 996 Carrera - BMW
M3 vs 997 Carrera - Porsche
M6 vs 997 Carrera S - BMW

997 TT or GT3 trumps them all.

A BMW is more FUN to drive!!!

However a Porsche is a better performance car. A BMW is easier to drive and a better daily driver than a porsche.

Porsche has a very low center of gravity but suffers from oversteer due to a greater percentage of weight rearward of dead center.

Both have phenominally low unsprung weight to enhance handling, but the Porsche will out-perform and out-handle the BMW hands down.

If you're talking white-knuckle excitement, get the Porsche. If you need a backseat for the kids, you'd better go with the family car.

Porsche is for drivers who can drive like alonso. BMW is for all others. If you feel like a world champ you will much more enjoy with porsche..

Cars, not SUVs -- how do you beat Porsche? You actually DRIVE it vs guiding the electrical gizmo-mobile that has BMW has become. Not to mention that service dept techs drive your BMW more than you do.

My BMW 330i is great to drive - especially on long trips. But just for the fun of it - I miss our little Boxster -- give us a beautiful day, the top down, no speed limit - and ah, pure fun.
