Wine was an integral part of the Roman diet and wine making became a precise business. Therefore it would have been like turning water into pepsi or some other popular beveridge nowadays. The answer to your question is a mixture of the two it was wine, but not the alcoholic drink we know now.

Good question. He probably had some trick up his sleeves and all the suckers of this epoch, notably the apostles who were simple fishermen, swallowed every one of his tricks. For the wine I guess he had some power or some substance that could color the water and made it look and taste like wine or alcohol. Same thing with the blind man who recovered sight : he cleanse his dirty eyes with a bit of his own saliva and the eyelids could open. The Bible is a fairy book for idiots written by the Jews like the Coran is a fantasies book written by the Muslims. It is high time we get rid of those 2 books to read serious scientific literature.

Hi, I'm not sure any one that wasn't actually there when it happened could tell you, but according to the Bible it was just a grape juice. They called grape juice wine.

He turned it into wine... But many protestants use grape juice... And if you're talking about communion then in the Catholic Church it is believed the wine becomes the blood. So in that case the wine is the blood... May I ask why you asked this in the GLBT section?

Not "like" wine, not "kinda" like grapjuice. He is reported to have turned water into wine so good that people asked why it wasn't served first (before people got a buzz and didn't notice the quality so much).
