of course stones can be melted , heat them till they reach melting point (which depends on their components) and they will melt and form lava with the same chemical composition , this can be done in labratories .. and you can cool the melt again to form a hard rock .. quick cooling = fine grained rock with the same composition of course or slow cooling = course grained rock ..

Yes, a stone can be melted, much like magma in a volcano. It would take extreme heat to do this though. The end result would mostly be a pile of free-flowing lava. Look, but don't touch.

All stone having come from a molten state and cooled to a solid can be remelted.
There are very many examples in everyday use. Iron ore into iron and steel, Galina into lead, Sandstone/silica into glass, Bauxite into aluminium. The list is endless.
There is simply nothing on earth that cannot be melted and consumed by heat if there is enough of it!!

Yes a stone can be melted if you heat it to 700-1300°C you can create a liquid material like lava.

Yes, it depends on the specific heat capacity and melting point of all the constituant elements in the stone.

yea, lava is melted stone, and lets not forget about burning hot MAG-MA. Iono i just wanted to say magma!!
It would take a heat source hot enough to get whatever rock or mineral you are trying to liquefy to... liquefy!

Yes all objects regardless of their outward appearance can be heated to a high enough temperature that the molecules in the lattice have enough energy to overcome the attraction of the bonds and the molecules become liberated. And if you continue heating the lattice disappears and the object then turns to a vapor as it boils.

Of coarse, what do you think lava is? All rocks at one time or another have been melted.
