Wal Mart had their 6 hour sale this morning with advertised values in the mail and on the internet. But, when people in our city went to Wal Mart they were told that this state has some law about not selling below wholesale value. A simple example is this: they advertised a Garth Brooks collection for 15 dollars, but sold it in our city for 18, supposedly because of this law. However, other Wal Marts in the state were selling the same thing for the advertised price. Did Wal Mart break the law? What do you think and what would you do? Hope you guys all had a great Thanksgiving. Ours was good for once.

It may be a form of bait and switch! I felt it was fishy when I saw the internet thing last night! You might get answers from lawyers, but I think they just stepped into it! The advertised stuff they couldn't produce at that price! They knew what they were doing. I have a degree in business and I think they are on shakey ground!

I would contact the Better Business Bureau or whatever government organization handles that kind of thing in your state to make sure that these "laws" do in fact exist, or perhaps contact the Wal-Mart main offices.

Good luck!

Be a leader, challenge the store owner to post the law or sell you at the 15$.. Walmart is supposed to stand by their ads..

If you look at the small print below the advert it would probably read something like this:
"At participating stores only" to legally cover themselves

you can report them to "Weights & Measures". They research and if they do find that something was advertised at one price but sold for another...they will fine them.

Legally, I don't know;however, my gut tells me something is not legit. They get away with so much underhanded and shady deals- and the stores are filthy.
