I say that her baby would rip a hole through her stomach and then drop dead. She is a mere mortal of earth of a yellow sun. He is the son of a being of great molecular desinty and from a planet of a red sun. What if Superboy went on to be born? How about when he started teething? Louis would be going for reconstructive surgerory of the breasts. What a nightmare!!!

Actually in an story in one of Supermans Annuals it addressed this. (I believe it was during Armageddon 2001) Lois concieves Clarks baby, but dies when the baby kicks and damages her internal organs.

I think the better question is how could she conceive in the first place. I always assumed when Supe's ejaculated he would shot out like a shotgun, and rip lois apart.

TO BE HONEST....

Think of it this way - there's two possibilities :

1. If the two species are compatible, then the child would be only half Kryptonian. Since Supes had to absorb sunlight for a long period of time before his powers reached their full strength, wouldn't it make sense that the baby wouldn't be able to absorb that much light while still inside the womb? I don't think it would be that hard for Lois to carry Supe's baby to full term, as long as they were careful.

2. Even if the baby did have all the superpowers of daddy, all he'd have to do is make sure that Lois spent the pregnancy time in an area with an artificial red sun, so that the baby would have NO power, and have no effect on Lois....

as the child is contained within her womb it aint likely to get much sun, also by most accounts Clark's powers manifest slowly through out High School, with possible bursts while younger when fight or flight responses might kick in, again, something a gestating baby would not experience

theuy actually had a daughter (in one of the story lines) she didnt develop her kryptonian powers till puberty.

superboy on the other hand was a creation by earthlings of supermans DNA

if super baby got out of control dont forget the fortress of solitude has a power dampener/remover

You haven't considered the possibility that kryptonian chromosomes are incompatible with human chromosomes, and that kryptonians reproduce differently from earth mammals. So a superchild might not even be possible in the first place.

I doubt LOUIS Lane would be able to bear ANY children. LOIS Lane may actually be able to accomplish this.

uh well, since he's superman, she wouldn't last through the honeymoon, she'd either be mashed to mush, burned alive or blown up because of the reasons you've given

but you're forgetting, that their son is a mix of human and superhero, so he only gets limited powers, well not really limited, but he can turn them on and off. so it's not like how you said. i mean, haven't you seen the movie????

No pregnancy. This would be a same sex marriage. Louis is a mans name.
