If she's thin it can be sooner. I am fat and I didn't start to expand until around 18 weeks. After that it happened pretty quickly. It depends on her build, you, if hyou're tall you could get a longer baby, only by a couple of inches but this makes a difference when it's scrucnhed up in a tummy. I really would advise telling her mother, you never know what could happen and not to put a downer on things, if they're together and something bad happens it will be a huge shock and panic situation. Tell her, I bet she won't be as upset, shocked, dissappointed or whatever it is as you think.

It depends.. I didn't really start to show until 5 months. I had a small "bump" but someone could mistake that for a full belly. She might not show until 6 months since she is thin but it really depends on the person. Just make sure she wears loose fit clothing that way she can hide it until you guys decide to tell her mother....

It depends on the individual in truth. She should expect to gain roughly 6lbs in the first trimester (up to 12 weeks). At week 13 her uterus would have grown a lot to accommodate the baby and it will slowly start to grow upward into her abdomen. So she would have roughly up to 13 weeks although it would also depend on if she is suffering from morning sickness so therefore she may not gain as much weight straightaway. However, the other sign to watch out for (that may need explaining) is the breasts as they will have enlarged quite a bit. You could always put that down to weight gain but just be aware.

Her mother will guess long before the bump begins to show, so it's time to come clean!!

My wife was 5'4" and very lean when she became pregnant with our first child and the bump grew huge as the baby was 9lb1 at birth.

it depends from person to person. Before she actually looks pregnant she will begin to look like she has put on weight thats all. I started to look pregnant at about 5-6 months but im fairly average sized. I would say play it by ear, you arent going to wake up one morning to find your partner waddling with a huge baby belly! i would say 4 months.

She won't show any time soon. I'm 5'9" and 125 lbs. Currently I'm 10 weeks pregnant and do not show at all. I don't expect to show until about 4 months. She may bloat once in a while, but it won't last over night. It'll come and go, but she won't actually show until about 4 months. She may however have to unbotton her pants soon, but that's about it.
