The incessant, repetitive beat makes me think of brainwashing techniques. Driving the worship of self, money, glamor and power into the minds of a nation on the brink of despair. It's all so "in your face," and precludes the ideals that will make us truly happy, like grace and peace and hope and respect. By respect I do not mean the kind that is forced by fear. And it's proof they don't have it, because they will blast it so loudly that your windows will rattle and our children will be forced to hear profanity and the treatment of women as mere objects. Such a negative attitude forcefully shoved down our throats with some kind of hypnotic, trance inducing substitute for music. So yes, it's annoying, to say the least, but I don't know about calling it music. By the way, isn't rap supposed to be spelled with a silent c?

Rap and Country are the two most annoying genres of music. I can't stand either one of them.

Its the lyrics i hate when it comes to rap...demeaning esp to women...but i still think country and punk/death metal are the 2 most annoying genres.

Most of the mainstream Rap sucks but there are some amazing underground groups.

I use to love rap when it had variety 'but its actually getting worse with time. I can only take so much mindless crap and at this point I'm done. I need rap detox.

I used to think disco sucked, but compared to rap it's quite good.
rap reminds me of little kids talking in rhyme, where as other singers actually write lyrics you can understand, and that don't demean women.
