There are a series of books by author Diana Gabaldon that are historical and a little sci/fi and romantic. You won't be disappointed! They are all pretty long but so far 6 in total of the series. I discovered them about 10 years ago and have read the series three times so far. I just love them!

ya, i know a great deal of good books to recommend to you.

first off, anything by Stephen King. he is AWESOME!!! that's not just my bias opinion talking either. you have to admit, his writing is pretty good. also, if you like king, then you'll also enjoy Dean Koontz. he's sort of like king, but I'll admit i don't really care for his books. you might though.

A very good author that i have recently discovered,( you probably haven't heard of him though.) is Bentley Little. His books can best be described as writing like Stephen King, or maybe Dean Koontz as well. his writing can be described as weird, paranormal, kind of like horror. but the thing which most describes his stories is that he is VERY macabre.

you know the author who wrote the hatchet books right? well, he wrote a book called "The Transell Saga" it's about a boy who gets lost during a hiking trip through the desert. he gets picked up by a beam of light, and sent to another planet,(which he later finds out is just earth in the future.) he has to fend for himself. i liked it a lot. it is a great adventure book.

there are some great saga's or series of books as well. the "cirque du freak" saga is pretty interesting. it is a series of books, told by the main character, a boy who is recently turned vampire. it's more for middle schoolers. and now as i am in high school, i must admit i would think it to be more for younger readers. but it is more mature and interesting then you would assume.

another series of books is called everworld. it is about a group of friends who get transported to a strange planet somehow.

I hope this helps you pick out a good book!
