I have a 04gto with 4500 miles. It is an automatic. Lately, there has been an electric-whining type noise between 1500-2500 rpms when it is in 1st gear. It does it slightly in 2nd gear. It is quite loud in 1st. Louder than the engine and almost as loud as exhaust. It shifts pretty well, and seems responsive when driving. What could be the problem here? thanks

With only 4500 miles on the car, it should still be under warrenty on the drive train. Take it back to the dealer for servicing. It shouldn't cost you anything.

Either two things...Basic transmission maintenance. Change filters and fluids. Other is a transmission sensor problem see a trusted mechanic.

probly not your transmission, you should bring it in for a service, it may be a belt or something simple.
