I have read a ton on homicides of different sorts, murders, and even peculiar cases of grotesque cannibalism. But what I seem to find facination and most unifrom upon the product and end result of each of these vulgarities of society is that the killer is often much more remebered and peole even visit his house, while the victims are barely even though about or known. Such as the case of Joachim Kroll the cannibal of Germany, fans actually visit him house, books dedicated after him, etc. Is this representative of the nature of man and society, that outwardly we show somber sad emotion for the victums, and within we perpetuate liking and fascination at grotesque and horrendous acts.

Weel don't get me wrong, i am not in support of any savage torturous act to animal or man. But many say that it is socially and in the greater aspect of society wrong to commit these acts. But if you follow the biological defenition, we have 6 billion> peole in the world and therefore it is almost certain that such genetic absurdities and abnormaties and extreme varities are bound to happed. So thre is no manner in which to find uniform answers to the reasonings of crime, its rather pathetic trying to make one. And itis not completely unnatural to commit such grotesque acts because we must remeber we are animals and closely related to other primates. And other primates similarly commit such murderous acts in nature such as infanticide, male-male brutal competion, murders, ect.

I think it's because we don't have a killer, or cannibal in our presence every day and since both murder and cannibalism is frowned upon in our society we wonder how could anyone do that. I too find great interest in a killer, where as I don't give a second thought to the victims. I just find it astonishing that someone could take the life of someone or something. Or even eat a fellow human, but we're all brought up differently aren't we?

It's just human nature. We as a society are fascinated with the morbid events that surround us. Take Columbine for instance. Do you ever hear in the news about a specific victim and their family? Nope! Heck, they even had a special on the History Channel about the two shooters at Columbine. No matter how terrible an event was, people in general tend to focus on the killer/rapist/cannibal involved and not enough on the innocent victim. We're just a morbid race as a whole. Like rubber-neckers on the road of life, we just can't get enough of the gore, violence, and strange cases we hear about.

I think people are fascinated with people who do sick & weird things because they can feel superior to those people. The huge difference of a normal person to such a sick person can make the 'normal' person feel that much superior to the 'sicko'. Also we are naturally creatures with a strong sense of self preservation and we become fascinated that the victims of the 'sicko's did not escape their clutches & we wonder if we would have if we had crossed those paths instead so we are fascinated to study the details so that we may recognize if we ever meet up with someone weird that we will have the presence of mind to flee. I may be wrong, but that's my theory & I'm sticking with it.

It sure seems that way. I don't read this type of material - I heard about things in various other ways. I don't seek it out or buy books about it. I am not fasnicated by these things. I am sickened. Humans are pretty much disgusting creatures. Makes me ashamed to be one most of the time. I think it will be wonderful when it's all over.

i believe that the monster is remembered greater advantageous than the sufferer because of the fact the monster is so in assessment to maximum human beings. while the sufferer isn't precisely forgotten, yet greater considered an icon that represents particularly everyone.
