well im an emo and i live in a small town in georgia and there are like 20 emos...but in the town 5 miles away there are about 40 of them just cuz its a bigger town.........im not gonna stereotype you cuz thats just stupid cuz im emo too...but they wear black with color(cheap immitation of goth) they always cry about something stupid and they cut theirselfs...oh and they wear tight clothing...they skateboard and they listen to emo,screamo,hardcore,and sum 90s grunge music and they have longish emo hair all they do is talk about how much of a crappy life they have and how much it sux and are always upset about everything sortta

Emos cry and whine about everything, and go home and cut their wrists while listening to acoustic music, usually featuring a singer with a high pitched voice and lyrics mainly focusing on feelings (usually negitive/sad ones at that). An emo boy would tend to wear tight long sleeved plaid flannel shirts, or tight long sleeved wool sweaters, girls jeans that are once again, tight, and alot of emos like to wear scarves. And as far as hair goes, it's usually black, but you could get away with brown, and it always has to be in your face, preferably covering one of your eyes at all times.

google the band AFI. that's what emo looks like, thats what music they listen to. its kind of a modern goth look. I don't know any emo ppl personally, but i see them and i hear what everyone else says.
some say a lot of them are cutters, or self mutilators. this is obviously a sterotype, but im sure some are. i get the impression that they tend to whine alot about injustices and things, and like to come across like they have bad lives, when really, a lot of them come from well off families.

Pretty much all back and an emo has a funky hair cut {longer in the front]. Also an emo is a cutter and is always depressed. Sorry i couldnt help you more.

I was under the impression that emo was a style of rock music typified by bands like Weezer. My son informed me that I was mistaken. He has a sorely negative impression of emo kids.
As far as I can figure out, they wear tight pants, typically black, often times with a white belt. This is accompanied by a tight t-shirt and a hair cut similar to Joan Jett in the eighties. The chicks have a tendency to wear eighties style prom dresses with cheap high heals. Looks like punk gear to me. In stereotype the guys tend to be slightly effeminate.

Its just that people are so freakin stereotypical.
I hate people like that.
Just because you act and dress a certain way...
It just gets me mad when people take one look at you and they think they have you all figured out, but really, they don't.

You dress semi-goth(black clothing) you act depressed everyone thinks you cut yourself and you take a bunch of black and white pictures of yourself. And a lot of times you are considered bi just for being emo.
