It can....afterall, family (parents being together by marriage) is the foundation of every individual.

Well, it may contribute, but the fighting before the end of a marriage can harm kids too. It's usually hard to say one thing is completely responsible for depressionl It's usually a mixture of things. As well, there's a lot that can be done to help a child whose parents are divorcing. Trying to keep routines as stable as possible. If there is no abuse, then regular contact with both parent. As the child of divorced parents, I can say that it is very important not to criticize the other parent in front of the children. If the children are taking it hard, then counseling can help. Yes my kids went through it.They are ok now but the devorce really messed them up for a couple of years.Also they didn't trust their mother for about 3 years.Devorce does some terrible things to families.
