I think that there is a lot of upside to Kevin Martin but I think he needs to sustain these numbers for a bit longer before we start thinking of all-star selections. He is young but I worry about his health once teams start to game-plan to defend him and try to stop him. He is slight of build, kind of like Tayshawn Prince of Detroit, but a great scorer though. I think the bigger question for the Kings is this... If they decide that K-Mart is legit, who can they trade away to make this team a threat to make it deeper into the playoffs? I would be willing to see Brad Miller go in return for some kind of a more athletic big man who is not injured so often... I know they don't grow on trees, but maybe we could get another young player?

Okay I think the kids got great potential and his having an outbreaking season. However, I don't think he's an all-star. Think about it, there are bunch of other SGs in the nba that are better than him. Kobe Bryant, Jason Richardson, Ray Allen, Manu Ginobli, Tracy Mcgrady, Vince Carter, Richard Hamilton, Joe Johnson, Dwyane Wade, etc. I'd take any of these guards over Kevin Martin. But don't get me wrong, he's a good player. But I don't think he's quite there at an allstar level. In the future however, I think he'll be an allstar and great player. Only time will tell, but right now he looks to be great.

He's playing well, but he won't be selected for the all-star team. He's to young, and in this league (right or wrong), you have to pay your dues. He would have a better shot at it if he played for a Eastern Conference team.
There are just so many awesome players in the Western Conference, and because of that, several deserving players (like Martin) will get caught in the numbers game. But, if your a Kings fan, you have to appreciate his play so far this season, and hope that it can continue if the team has any chance at all to make the playoffs. You have to think the Mavs, Spurs, Jazz, Suns(despite there slow start), Clippers, Rockets, and Lakers will all probably make the playoff field, barring injuries. That would leave the Kings to battle it out with the Hornets, Warriors, and Nuggets for the remaining spot.
