If you're asking "will being good and honest get me ahead", then probably not.
If you're asking "will being good and honest make me a decent person" then yes.

This is a yes and no answer (mostly a no). Look at today's world. It's corrupt and led by money. If you've got money you've got power and when you've got power you become corrupt. Yes, being honest and good makes you a better person and inside you know that. But, think about it, does being honest put food on the table? No. Does being good make you a CEO of a large company? No. Being honest and good will not get you ahead in life, sure, you'll feel good that you did the right thing.
Today's world is filled with lies. Politics can dicieve half the country and then next election there are millions of people hold signs, "Vote John Doe for Governer, he'll make you rich!" And there you go, another term for governer John Doe.

Depends on how you look at things, remember at the end of it finally you are answerable to yourself and no one else. So if you are self-directed it helps to be honest and truthful, you will have a lot of self respect and high self-esteem. You might end up making some people unhappy though but thats ok.

Its has to be done selectively, some people you can be good towards but other aren't worth the effort.
Good and honest has it's place as brutality and hate has it's place also.

My answer would be Yes and No... if it is for the common GOOD... If it will benefit not myself but for everyone that needs it... Then you will know if it's worth it or not..depends on the situation you're in.

oh yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you might think that no one cares or realizes but how you act can change peoples lives. if you were 'good' to someone who was about to kill themselves but you didn't know it you could have saved their life and if you were honest about something than you would feel good inside. even if you think that no one notices god does and that is worth being 'good' and 'honest'.
