If Michigan beats Ohio State in the National Championship game, should they really be called the National Champions, or should it be called a shared title? If this situation does arise, should there be a third game to break the tie?

Clarification: I am asking what YOU think should happen. Not what the NCAA will decide (since we know what that will be) and not how likely this outcome is. It's a theoretical question, looking for an opinionated answer.

I don't think that it should even be possible for a rematch this year. Because once you beat someone once, you shouldn't have to prove it again. But if there was a rematch between the 2 teams and Michigan won I guess you would have to call them the National Champs, but that shouldn't be able to happen. And they wouldn't be able to win if there was a rematch. OH IO

I don't believe in Home field advantage. God might help Michigan win the game against Ohio State because of simpathy because they won't win on there own. They are not even the second best team OSU just got tired of beating the non since out of them and then let up so they could make it on Sportscenter. Troy Smith is the Truth at QB and Ted Ginn is the same at Reciever. If Michigan won then Both would have one loss to each other so it should be shared. If they don't lose a spot when they lose why should ohio state. P.S. I'm a Miami Hurricanes fan who hates the hell out the Buckeyes for the BS in '02, but I know the best team when I see it. And Michigan ain't it.

They should be National Champions. Ohio State had home field advantage last time they played and the title game would be played on a neutral field. The only ones who would think differently are Buckeye fans.

if michigan wins then they diserve to have it to themselves
USC was ranked #1 last year and lost to #2 texas. and they didnt share the title.
it all comes down to THAT GAME
if you win you win
if you lose you lose
honestly if Ohio St. beat them once then they should be able to beat them again and if they dont then its their own fault..... A Tie Breaker is just going to favor Ohio St. who hhas already won once
And Michigan would have won on a nutral field.
Ohiostate had home field advantage the one matchup and only won by 3

you cant share a title, its just retarded, and you cant have a tie breaker, its just retarded,, so if they do beat ohio state...hypothetically speaking...they would be called the "national Champions" but michigan players and fans would be the only people that would actually think that classification is true.

well, firstly, they won't, OSU is the better team, but if they do, they would be the National Champion, just like UF in 96' when in the last game of the season, they were beaten by FSU, but then beat them for the national championship.
