I hate doctors sometimes. Make the effort to go somewhere else and get a second opinion. I've never had this, but whatever it is it needs to be treated. Don't let this go, because it may be something serious, rare, or new...

I agree that it should be checked by a dermatologist at some point soon. Meanwhile, could it be from irritation from the clothes you are wearing? Pantyhose, tight jeans . . . . or what detergent you wash your clothes in? Doe it itch? Think about exactly when it started. Make sure you keep the area clean and use an antibiotic ointment to see if it stays cleared up. Try not to use soap on it either. Don't forget and make an appointment with a dermatologist. They probably would be more familiar with this type of thing than your general physician would be.

Actually, I've been there. But instead of having pus, I had this very clear like gel stuff. My belly button was very red and irriated and I hadn't done anything to it. No peircings or anything. It just started. I was afraid to show anyone, because I didn't want to go to the doctor. But finally, I did, and they said it'd go away, and it did. It was probably the most bizzare thing medically that's ever happened to me. But if your really worried about it, go back to the doctor and DEMAND that they listen to you. Because your belly button isn't something you should mess around with, as dumb as that might sound. I dont care if you have to get an attitude, they need to listen to you and help you, because thats their job. Good luck!

Never had this happen, nor heard of it; however, if you had a bite or irritation in tere, or your allergic to metal and your pants button irritated it, it may have become infected, and drained itself, and if the pus has stopped, it may be healing... clean it with sterile fluid; Hydrogen Peroxide, Alcohol, etc... swab it out and keep an eye on it.

No, I haven't. Have you? See a doctor quickly; this is not normal.

You may have a condition called "Meckel's diverticulum."
You need to find a new doctor, one who will listen!
