Free? Probably AVG and Avast. By the way (referring to “jibbarjap” answer above) using “detection capabilities” as criteria for finding best AV, probably doesn’t reflect reality, as softwares which uses aggressive (or too aggressive) heuristic rules would produce most positives (out of which most would be however false as well – even having nothing against Kasperky itself which seems to be good AV). “False positive” stands for incorrect detection where not-malware program is identified mistakenly as malware.

AVG antivirus rools the antivirus roost for now. Get the AVG Free Edition. It offers as good, perhaps better performance than the programs you have to pay for. If you really like it, then maybe you can also download the AVG anti-spyware Free Edition.

In my opinion (which is the only one I have!) AVG works best, free or otherwise. It was the only thing that got rid of a kakworm virus my sister sent me; Norton just let it right through. Good luck!

Avg is one hundred% unfastened and its what i take advantage of . in basic terms style it on google and get it , i stumble on it very solid yet once you don't like it i think of northern protection has a unfastened trial so try that . yet while i substitute into you i could get AVG . solid success
