the hotdog of course cause if the bun is crappy u can at least enjoy the hotdog now the other way around isnt so much fun

The more I think about it the bun is pretty important. Without it you'd burn your hand from the chili sauce and the mustard would make your hands sticky. And forget about the mess with a Chicago style hot dog!

Both are equally important as is the sauce that is added to make up a combination of tastes that make hotdogs what they are, very enjoyable.
