My husband has notebooks laying around the house with his writings in. Not organized and with a 3 & 5 year old who like to color in them. I want to find some type of journal that he can write in that is not so stuffy looking. Any ideas on where to find some?

Try Office Depot or Staples, I was going to suggest the leather look locked notebook as well but someone already beat me to it!

Also, as a way to keep the kids amused and not wanting to color in Daddy's notebooks, go to the local newspaper and ask them for a roll of newsprint. Here, I can get up to 7 rolls for free and that's a lot of coloring paper!

You can buy journals at office stores, such as Staples, Office Depot and Office Max. I think you can get them even at Walmart or Target. Or for nicer ones, check out www.levenger.com for a selection of journals. If he likes ultra-smooth paper, I would recommend something by Rhodia or Clairefontaine, available online at www.misterart.com and other places - this paper is incredible! Oh, another good place for papers and journals is Swisher Pens. Go to:

Have you tried a craft store like Michaels or Hobby Lobby? Hallmark is nice, too, and you can go to an office supply store. I love a good rhyme.

get him a leather binder that he can put pages into or take out. ive got one with a combination lock on it that the kids cant get into. i write music and like to have it around for whenever some inspiration hits. you can get imitation leather too. its easier to wipe clean if it gets juice spilt on it! got mine at Staples for around 30 dollars
