tsubasa is a crossover series meaning CLAMP used characters from some of their older works to create an entirely new adventure. eg sakura/syaoran (ccs) and mokona (magic knight rayearth, i think..) a chobits character also appeared in one episode O_O
so basically there isnt any relation in plotline, only the characters are similar.
sidenote: if the characters appearing in a certain series arent new (meaning they originated from another series) theyre crossover characters (literally characters that have "crossed over" from another series).

No, both sequence have distinct time lags. Card Captor Sakura became created previously Tsubasa Chronicle. Clamp won't be able to create Tsubasa Chronicle with out installation all of their favorited characters from their respected sequence. purely as Sakura and Li were from Cardcaptors first, they were later shown in Tsubasa Chronicle of their older opposite numbers. Tsubasa Chronicle is basically like the youngest baby to the older sequence. Its like a new child toddler sister/brother.

no.. card capto sakura and tsubasa reservoir chronicles are two completely difference stories. cardcaptor sakura is a magical girl series, while tsubasa is a shonen fantasy series. in both series, however, the two main leads are sakura and syaoran so that may lead to the confusion. in a way, ccs is a another parallel world if you have read xxxholic, then you would understandwhat i mean.

Card captor sakura is a magical, i.e. she (sakura) finds a book in her dads liabrary in their home, which has magical cards which she accidently frees. In cardcaptor sakura she has to collect those cards back before they destroy this world.
Tsubasa on the other hand is a soccer game. Tsubasa is a young boy who want to become a internation football player (or soccer anyways). I hope this answers your query. I have watched both the animated serials and they are very good. If you are interested in cartoons(animated) i would want you to watch 'curious play' its very good. Its on animax at 8.oo pm mon to fri.

Nope! The characters are similar, but the PLOTS ARE REALLY DIFFERENT!
First of all, CCS is all by itself. TRC, crosses over with Chobits and XXX Holic.(No it is not Hentai.) The CCS plot is collecting cards that scattered all over Japan. The TRD plot is collecting feathers that scattered into a whole bunch of different worlds. Also in CCS, the weapons the characters have are these little staff thingies...or wands.... In TRC, the characters' weapins are spirits that dwell within their bodies.
There are other differences. But these are the main ones.
