My fiancee and I both got part time jobs recently. We've barely been there two weeks, and we realized that they were a BIG mistake. How do we quit without feeling really guilty about it? They aren't awful jobs, but there just aren't enough hours in the day!

I know telling the truth is the best option, but what's the easiest way to do it? We both really hate letting people down, even if it's just an employer at a crummy part-time retail job.

The question is "Why did you apply on that job in the first place?" Since, you both have been working for only two weeks. It think that you are just adjusting on the job offered to you.

There is no big deal to resign from such firm or company if you think that it does not suits your abilities and capabilities as a worker. Or maybe they are offering a certain job will you dont know how to deal with.

Try to consider first the vision and mission of such company. Beter resign if you dont like.

You will not be successful if you hate your job. Smile. :)

Stuart had a very good idea for how to phrase a resignation letter. I would also recommend giving 2 weeks notice, however, since you have only been there 2 weeks, your employer may not even need that much prior notice. Just remember not to burn your bridges. I am sure that your employer will understand, especially if you explain to him or her that the job wasn't exactly what you had expected.

Forget the guilt. It's business. Explain the circumstances politely and then walk out the door. If your employer had to let you go, he would pink slip you immediately and you'd have to leave. Good luck with your new positions... to avoid a repeat of this experience, check with your local college (you don't have to be or have been a student) about career exploration.

"Thank you. X and Y have had the privilege of working at ZZZ and realize we cannot provide the quality time the firm deserves. If you wish, we will help you through Christmas, otherwise we will consider this ______ our final day. Again, thank y ou for the opportunity."

Just face your boss and tell her/him you would like to quit for personal reasons. You may have to give a week or two notice so do it today.Good Luck

Just forget about it. If it is part-time, they are used to it. I wouldn't even show up again.
