Not enough information to give an educated answer. Has it been sitting awhile? If it has then I would say rotor and distributor cap for no spark. Are the wires routed correct coming from the distributor. I would look more along those lines since you know it is getting gas. If you try a starting fluid and it trys to start then maybe it is gas problem. Good luck.

i own a repair shop,and it could be anything on it,you need to check it and see if its getting good fire to it,and make sure the carb isn't flooding it,this happens a lot after a rebuild on one,,other than that you,ll have to check everything ,and see if somethings not right on it.i have seen them jump timing when you turn the engine over to start it,but like i said there are a lot of things it can be,,how you do this is start ruling things out by process of checking,,good,luck,i hope this help,s.

Check for spark. If no spark check for busted wire from pickup to distributer shaft.

have you check and see if there is spark at the spark plugs,is the timing chain okay? r u getting a strong spark instead of weak spark at the spark plug? are you getting high engine compression at all cylinders?
