It will get you by for a little while, but if you live in a place where it freezes, that mixture can ice up in the holding reservoir, unlike the regular window washer solution which freezes at a much lower temperature (about -40)

Yes, you can put windex in your car instead of windshield washer fluid. However, you don't want to use this in the winter time. This fluid will freeze in your reservoir and your lines. which both can cause damage by bursting. Windex do not have the ability to not freeze below 32 degrees Farenheit.

Don't put water in your washer fluid holder if you live where it gets cold. If you do than the water will freeze and clog up your tubes and you won't be able to use your jets until it warms up. My mother thought putting water in would be a good idea. The water froze and it took months for the lines to fully thaw.

You can depending on where you live this time of year. If you are in a colder climate, the liquid solution might freeze in the line and in the resevior, so I wouldn't recommended it if this were the case.

Yes, but the stuff from the store is a lot cheaper and works fine.

No, because it might mess up the car's finish

Besides, Windex is much more expensive per ounce than car windshield wiper liquid

Theoretically it should work - they're about the same for active ingredients...and it won't hurt the car's finish or wax jobs.
