I am practicing yoga for many years. I want to do some other kind of exercises to shape my body. Please let me know, can I do both yoga and body building exercises. I spend 1.5 hrs per day in the morning for yoga. I am planning to spend 1 hr per day in the evening for body building exercises. Waiting your replies.

After shaping my body, I am also planning to start learning karate. Is it a right plan?

"too much is too bad" yoga is meant for regulating internal organs to perform well, exercise is toning the external muscles.

yoga and exercises both generate enormous heat in the body so one in the morning and other in evening will be fine, depending on ur body condition, but yoga shld nt be more that 45min -1 hr & same for exercise too.

In an enthusiasm u can perform both, but at alater stage it may be a cause for nervous diseases.

The best way cud be give a gap for yoga, shape up ur body in gym then continue yoga.

I wud say that yoga is a wonderful boon to man kind, it wont prolong ur life span but keep u healthier till the end.

Only possible down-side is that you may sacrifice some of your bulk, if you're weight-gaining, by training too vigorously; yoga & martial arts make the body lean...

Martial arts will help shape your body as well, especially your legs if you go with Tae Kwon Do. Yoga compliments ANY workout plan. It is very good for you. You are definitely on the right path. Kudos!
