Y wont my pc detect my perfectly good dvd?
yes, i put it in the dvd drive and the other drive wont detect it when it try. i go to windows xplorere and windows media they cliam there is to disk in that dirve, when there very well is

It could be any number of problems, but one I haven't seen mentioned yet is that sometimes the drivers for the drive become corrupted. It's a relatively easy fix, if that's the case.
Using the Device Manager, go to the Hardware Manager and right click on the drive that's involved. That'll bring up a menu, and choose "Uninstall" from those choices. Exit from there, and then do a normal shut-down of Windows and reboot. Windows should "see" the drive as "new hardware", and install the correct driver for it. Once that's done, try your DVD in the drive again. Hopefully that'll fix the problem. Good luck.
