that sucks. i suffer from headaches like that. its hard to believe your doctor wont take you seriously. if his happens often, try to note what triggers them. could be related to hormones, sensitivity to certain foods, odor, or light.
when painkillers&caffeine don't work, the best thing is to lie still in a dark room, no light at all. alternating hot and cold compresses too.
and for gods sake, get off the computer! could be eyestrain!

Well I get migraines all the time but my doctor prescribes medication for mine. You can try taking a couple of Advil and either drink something with caffeine in it like a Pepsi or eat a chocolate bar. I've had bad headaches before where after drinking a soda and having some chocolate gets rid of it. If that doesn't work, try staying in a dimly lit room and take a nap, sleeping it off takes care of it too. Hope this helps!

If your migraine is due to a combination of low blood sugar and "that time of month", go eat some hefty (3-5 oz) of lean protein (salmon is very good - even the canned stuff - tuna too) with some good veges (non-white, non starch - preferably deep green or leafy green) and some water 8-64 oz depending on how much you normally drink.
Take some pain reliever (ibuprofen, aspirin or Tylenol) and lay down for 30 minutes in a darkened room.
Should help slow it down a bit.

Migraines are a neurological disease. It might be worth getting in to see a neurologist - preferably one who specializes in migraines. He or she WILL take you seriously, believe me!
That said, migraines tend to be triggered. Just as each person is different, each migraine is, too, so your triggers are bound to be different from mine. But there are common triggers (possibilities) you might want to look out for... Not every one of these may have an effect on you. SOME of them may only affect you in combination (I have some triggers that I only need to have one hit me, some that I need two or more...like that )...
Skipping or delaying meals
Missing sleep
Hormonal Changes (period/menopause)
Oral contraceptives
Hormone replacement therapy
Aged cheese
Eggs
Tomatoes
Citrus fruits
Wheat products
Alcohol
MSG
Chocolate
Caffeine
Hot dogs
Bacon
Luncheon meats
Avocado
Fermented or pickled foods
Yeast or protein extracts
Freshly baked yeast products
Onions
Nuts
Peanut butter
Dairy
Yogurt
Sour cream
Aspartame
Weather changes (my worst)
High altitude
Time change/jet lag
Stress
Exercise (the kind that suits you - not going out and going nuts), stress management and relaxation, getting plenty of sleep (form good sleeping habits), avoid missing meals, and (this is a big one!) discontinue smoking - will all help. Basically all those thing people talk about as healthy measures...as taking care of YOU!
Keep a migraine journal (to record what you've eaten or done that could be a trigger). Maybe do an elimination diet (same principle).
While the migraine is raging, you'll need to try things to see what works for you. I see a lot of folks talk about cold cloths on their head or neck - I'll kill anyone that brings cold close to me, but it helps others. So cold OR WARMTH to the head of neck. A dark room. Soothing music or absolute silence. An urgent care clinic, if you get to the point you need pain medication, is better than an ER. You'll get seen faster, and you're more likely to be taken more seriously (I read a study in a recent National Headache Foundation newsletter about this, as so many of us are viewed as drug seekers, when all we're looking for is something to ease the pain...)
Above all else, I wish you good luck with something that will let you get beyond the pain.
Take care.

It could be SINUS and not migraines... SINUS sometimes gives a really bad headache even without a stuffy nose... Take sinus medication; maybe it will alleviate the pressure. Also, go see another doctor...

When it's not a hangover from alcohol, suspect fatty foods. Have you been eating an unusual amount of greasy stuff lately? The grease gets into your blood and makes it viscous or something, which sometimes gives headaches. Try eating only grain and veggies for a couple of days and see if that cures it.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information
