Not unless the west really works hard on "embedind" the idea.
On their own, they have been killing off each other for centuries
and there are still plenty on both sides to go around.
They must have a "quota" which once it is reached, they slow down some until more of them are available. Pathetic..just...pathetic

Long before western countries colonized these regions, the government consisted of family groups, ruled by sheiks, who battled each other to take possession of each other's land and property. This is the way it ran. There were cities, of course, but those cities were governed about the same way, just by more powerful sheiks.
The Sunnis and Shiites have only the fact that they call themselves Muslims in common. The Shiites view the Sunnis as infidels and the Sunnis view the Shiites as throwbacks. Don't forget the Kurd, in the north, who should really be a part of Turkey, but Turkey doesn't want them and they say part of the land that is claimed by Turkey belongs to them.
I don't know how much news you have been watching, but apart from everyone being out in the street, drawing lines and shooting across them at once, civil was is pretty much what is going on there now. The Sunnis want to live a moderate life, not controlled by Mullahs who tell them how they should live their lives. The Shiites think it is heresy to do anything without first getting direction from a Mullah (religious leader).
Pandora's box has been opened.

Oh sure those radicals don't know the meaning of the words peace or tolerence. But they only have car bombs and small arms so I don't think that you could call it a war. I'd call it "just another day in the nation of Islam!

I think we need to be less concerned about Iraq and more concerned about the situation in the mid-east as a whole. I do believe war is innevitable.
