is the xbox 360 old now?

now that the ps3 and wii came out no body talks about the xbox360.ppl say that the xbox360 is just an xbox that has better graphics and plays hd-dvd's. the controller is the same you still got to pay to play online but wit the ps3 and wii you can play online for free. ppl say that the one wit the best graphics is ps3 and the one wit the best gameplay and games is the wii. and i was thinking of getting a 360 but i wanna know wat makes it special?

Hell no, the console it self may be 1 year old..

The game of the Year - Gears of War and soon to come out Halo 3 and Halo Wars... Dead Rising is also fun. Ghost Recon AW gives you that real soldier experience..

The reason Xbox 360 is so special is that from Xbox live you can play with tons of friends, download demos and trailers, download TV shows and Movies, Live talk chat and video chat, and much more..

The controller is better then other consoles controllers except for the Wii, but thats because its designed for a different thing...
The best gameplay depends on your type of games, the Wii gives you a WHOLE NEW way of gaming, while the Xbox360 gives you the best shooter and more devopled games like with better storylines and such ex. Halo 2... While the PS3 is pretty good yet there arent very much good games out yet, and those that are out, I'm hearing some bad reviews for it.. But get Resistance: Fall of Man, now thats a good one for the PS3..

I suggest if your on a budget and want to try new things, get the Wii, but don't miss out on Gears of War, sure it's overhyped but I think it's well worth the hype, also if your a Halo fan.. Be prepeared for Halo 3 and Halo Wars.. The Ps3, get it next year when all the good games come out and more Blu Ray DVDs are out...

here is some advise...you neeed an xbox 360 to play 360 games, but there are a few types of 360's One doesn't have a harddrive and its the cheapest DO NOT BUY THIS ONE, he will not be able to save games and will spend alot more money in memory cards. there is the elite which has a bigger harddrive and an HD dvd player this one is also a waste of money as HD dvd players have already gone obsolete. Now the best deal is the normal xbox 360, i think its 299. and it comes with a 11 or 20 gig hard drive i cant rememebr which is big enuff for heavy video game use. If you are buying this just for fun and not a present then you may just stop my your local gamestop and ipck up a used one there usually 10 % cheaper and have been tested. unforutaly you dont get the 3 year warrenty though and the xbox 360 has been known to be a fragle system. Im already on my 3rd one b/c they keep breaking.

The 360 is far from old, and actually, it doesn't even play HD-DVD's. For that you have to buy a $200 add-on. Yes you have to pay to play online and for downloadable content and the operating system and hardware are just upgraded versions of the original XBOX. I'm a Sony guy and think the Playstation 3 is poised for domination of the years 2008 and 2009. To tell you the truth though (don't tell any other Sony guys I said this...) the XBOX 360 is an impressive system. It's outright powerful and displays incredible images even through component outputs. The PS3 has it wipped in HD output capacity, but the dirty secret that nobody tells you is that nobody really has a tv that can keep up with the PS3 yet. As for an all around, next-gen powerhouse, that still describes the XBOX 360, and with blockbusters like Gears of War and the Halo series, it will be for at least another 2 to 3 years.
