it's not healthy for you, because that's too much focused on what others think of you. who cares what they think??? just be yourself. If you look at yourself through Gods eyes, you will see a beautiful child, who is dearly loved.
God bless!!

there are some good and AMAZNING answers here already but im gonna tell you what i think. i think it's important you see yourself in the eyes of yourself. in other words, i think it's important that you be the person you want to be and not the person people want you to b or the person you want to impress people with. i don't know if you mean seeing as in physically or mentally. if physically, for example you think that people might you are overweight or underweight or too tall or too short, you want to change. in some cases, that can b good thing and also can be bad. mentally is different. because that's what makes up your personality. i think it's not good seeing yourself as how people see you because nobody understands you more than yourself. so who cares how others see you as? as long you love yourself and you know you're a good person, that's enough. i used to care a lot how people see me. but now, i see myself as who i am. i don't talk fake. i stay real. that might piss some people off. some people who like to hear the false truth. when i speak my mind, people don't like it. but that's who i am. im not fake. i'm not gonna say anything rude but i won't lie. for example, i've seen some of my past good friends walk up to a person and praise them about how they their top or pants or dress or something like that but behind their backs, they would talk negative stuff about it. sure, the person you praised would probably never noe the truth and would like you more for making them feel good. but if you really do that, you would look yourself in the future and found out that you made your friends by lying. well, that was a long answer. out of bordom. lol. well god bless.

Yes and no, life is more than one perspective OK, but it is your perspective enlightened by other perspectives that come to you in many forms.
We learn in the classrooms, the crib, the car, the pain of life or the other room. We learn on the Highway of Life while we are swimming and laughing and crying. We at times can not learn without teaching others, and at times we can not learn without being taught by others.
We learn like we are new Born's, older than the mountains, wider than the seas and flying like the winds. We see a reflection here and there and over there and then one right there in front of us. And all of this is OK, appropriate, proper and legal.
If you doubt any of this, go to your favorite reflecting pond at mid-day and read a passage or two out of the book "The Prophet," by Gibran.

No, it's not, because everyone's opinion is HIGHLY subjective. Furthermore, you're allowing yourself to be part of what could be a very unhealthy series of comparisons!
And finally, to develop a sense of self is it is vitally important to not compare yourself to anyone or try to spend an inordinate amout of time trying to even imagine how others "see" or think of you because the others are NOT you and what they see is not an accurate view of WHO you actually are. You are the sum OF YOUR experiences, not the experiences of others.

I would say no, it is unhealthy to see your self through the eyes of others. You have to be your own person. Also you are giving control of yourself to others when you start to listen to their opinions. Controlling people use criticism to manipulate people with low self esteem.
