Excuse me, St. Francis of Assisi. I have read some details on the net, I just wondered if anyone had anything to add that was interesting. He is my favorite saint.

A son of a wealthy merchant who took part in a battle, thinking war is romantic but was soon disgusted by the carnage of fighting.

He turned to religion & was praying in the hills when he was given the stigmata (the wounds inflicted on Jesus during his crucifixion) which never healed but also never got infected.

St Francis was the patron saint of animals & regarded all nature as his brothers & sisters. The animals would listen to him when he preached.

I think you spelled "Assisi" wrong. "Assissi," maybe? I'm pretty sure it's "S"s, not "C"s.
