To keep it simple and to not waste much of you time because of it being around the holidays you could just say wether your reaction would be "Positive", "Negative", or "No Reaction"/"No Opinion" but If you wanted to give me a nice long explanition or just some detail thats fine to I would be happy with either.

Just in case your curious im doing a presuasive report on Video games and Violent Video Games and their effects/potential effects (if any)on children/minors (Not Sure What my Stance is yet) so your praticipation would be appriciated as I will most likely use the results in my report.

Also this is not going to be one of those reports that say that violent video games cause school shooting and teen surcide because they dont.

Also if you wondering why I put this question in the Video & Online Games Section its because I know I will get alot of answers or at least more answers than got when I put it up in Polls and Surveys.

And yes this is a survey.

I did an extensive project on Video Game Violence and could give you information or ideas if you needed it. If you have any questions at all, just extend this question with your question and I will answer it. Don't bother E-mailing the ESRB, they wont respond.

Violence in video games does not cause real-life violence in children that know the difference between right and wrong. I think it is up the the parents to make sure that their children are playing games they find appropriate for their kids. I think its stupid when a parent lets a 6 year old play Grand Theft Auto and blame the game if he does something violent.

Just thought of somthing! If you have time, go into game retailers alone and try to by a mature game, make sure its a well known one like Grand Theft Auto, if your older and you look "mature" then have a little brother/ little sister go in.

EB games would not let me buy the game, along with Best Buy, Target, and Walmart.

Toys 'R' Us let me, as did GameStop and Circut City.

I could care less about kids playing violent games. Never have I ever seen videogames take part in violent behavior. It's mostly been misplaced anger and the never-dying urge to be popular in school.
Peer-pressure is the top cause for violent behavior in my opinion.

I believe it's up to the parents' discretion what a child is exposed to. I've had video game consoles back to Sega Genesis, and my mom never really cared about me playing Mortal Kombat. I've turned out to be a well rounded individual and don't have any desire to rip someone's spine out..

I feel it has no effects on the kids, people make people violent, not video games.

i have a 3.5yr old son....i dont allow him to watch or play anything violent....he has a lovely nature and is a very affectionate child of which i am grateful for....
my nephew on the other hand is 4 he plays violent games and watches dragon ball z, ninja turtles and a few other shows that i would not allow my son to watch....he is not affectionate, is happy to give you a karate kick to the gut and constantly does karate punches and what not....
coincidence......i dont think so.....
so even at a young age it is evident that these types of games and videos have an effect on behaviour......im opposed obviously
