They have an advantage in being a very young team. They have strength in the key areas like pitching and hitting. So really maybe just add a bat and they will have that taste of the big show, and want to return and win it next time.

No. They proved that they were a fluke when they lost 31 or their last 50 during the regular season. They got lucky and beat the Yankees who couldn't pitch their way out of a wet paper bag. The Yankees saw they couldn't win with that team, so they dumped dead-weight Gary Sheffield on the Tigers (SUCKERS!!!), and made the Yankees realize that they need to get back to having a team like they had in the 90s. I see Cheatin' Kenny coming back to his normal self next year, Rodriguez another year older and smaller as he continues to shrink from no longer being on steroids, and dropoffs from some of the members of the bullpen. I also see the Twins being a better team, and Cleveland came on strong at the end of last season. The Tigers will need more than an injury-prone 38 year old to boost their offense.
I was wondering, since the Tiger fans chanted STEROIDS whenever Giambi and Sheffield came to bat for the Yankees last year, will they still chant STEROIDS now that Sheffield is on their team? It seems seems they forgot that Pudge is also mentioned in Canseco's book. After all, these are the same fans who booed Kenny Rogers at the All-Star game in '05, but cheered him last year. Go figure.

Yeah Right, they'll be like Last year, but with different AL Division winners, Red Sox East, Angels West, White Sox Central, and Tigers Wild Card.
I'm just being Generous the Tigers will lose the World Series again to the Cardinals like last year.

Why do you think its Revenge, they have a good shot at getting to the Playoffs, after then its a crap shoot as shown year after year now with the Wild card entry.I say lets go play 162 ballgames and find out who is the best team in their respective divisions and have a tournament to find out who's the best team out of those teams and may the best team Win

You guys dodged a bullit this year using Todd Jones as your closer. If Rodney or Zumaya can step up and do the job or a "real" closer then I think the Tigers have a great chance to get to the World Series again, but not win it.

There are a lot of things to consider.
Even though they have good pitching
will it perform as good as last year?
I do agree that will the addition of Sheffield
their offense is better.
If they do make the playoffs
(and they have a better chance then
the whinny sux do!)
then I would say yes.
They got a taste
and I am sure they are hungry for more.

They will certainly be a contender. But the Yanks and Red Sox are getting ready to stack the deck. It will be tough.

It's too early to tell. Especially when they play a 162 game schedule. It's so hard to predict that stuff in the off season.
