Microsoft Zune Is the same as an Ipod, but is more compatible with windows. It has Wireless connectivity which means you can trade songs and pictures with friends . But the songs only last 3 days.
It has an FM radio. Plays Videos
Ipod is currently the most popular. But it requires iTunes and has no connectivity. No FM radio, plays videos but only in itunes format. Compatible with alot of firmwares so there are many hacks.
Creative Labs Zen does not compare.
My preference is zune

Creative Zen Vision:M Is probably your better choice. You get Fm radio, recording and more format support. Get A 60 gb for 300 or a 30 for 250

ipods are overrated. I got an iriver 20gb for cheaper and it has all the features of the ipod.
