You do not have to upgrade, I didn't. However be sure to keep your computer 100% updated every month with Windows Updates.

IE-6 has more security holes than Swiss Cheese, which Microsoft patches each and every month.

As long as you stay completely updated and patched, the old IE-6 is a fairly secure browser.

Good luck.

Hi, I'm learning to live with Explorer 7 even though I wasn't crazy about it when I first downloaded. Problem now is that Microsoft has included IE7 in its critical updates download and you can no longer remove an update from the list like previously. so you may be stuck with it whether you like it or not. As I said, at first it may look strange and getting used to but I think eventually it will become an old shoe just like everything else about the computer.

No you don't have to upgrade, you're computer is safe. The new Internet Explorer 7 has something new called an "anti plishing filter" that prevents fake websites into tricking you into entering your personal information, such as credit card info. If you want this protection, you can simply download and install the new Google toolbar onto your old browser.

No ... You do not need to upgrade to IE7. I asked the question here last week about what the pros & Cons of IE7 . It seemed a 50/50 split with some people unhappy withit and were removing.

Good Luck

I personally would recommend NOT installing it. The interface is quite different from IE6 and hard to find things that were easy to find. Yes, it has better security but use common sense and you should be able to keep using IE6 for a long time.
