You can go to File, Import and Export and a Import/Export Wizard will appear. Export Favorites to a file and you have them backed up. To restore favs or move to another comptuer follow same steps but import favs from file. Put the file in another folder anywhere you want or a thumb drive etc.

Instructions
•STEP 1: Insert a blank disk into the floppy disk drive (or other removable disk drive).
•STEP 2: Double-click My Computer.
•STEP 3: Double-click the hard disk icon (usually C:).
•STEP 4: Double-click the Windows folder.
•STEP 5: Right-click the Favorites folder and choose Send To from the menu that appears.
•STEP 6: Select 3 1/2 Floppy (A) or the drive containing the blank disk. The favorites file is copied.
•STEP 7: Remove the disk from the drive.
•STEP 8: To use the favorites on this or another computer, drag the Favorites folder on the disk to the Windows folder on the computer.

•Check the Related Sites for ways to share Internet Explorer favorites and Netscape Navigator bookmarks between browsers and between computers.

They are already saved to a folder called Favorites.

If you are using Firefox it is a lot easier i would go to manage bookmarks in firefox. IE is gay and i don't use it
