The answer to your question really depends on you. It's a science and if you are a researcher, you will have to master the scientific methods required in whatever area of psychology you specialize in - that means desiging research projects, statistical analysis - publishing your work for your peers to review. You will surely need a Ph.D. to do anything in the field (of research) - to make a long story short, wherever you invest your passion - you'll find challenges and you will only get out of it, what you put into it.

So, yes, it can be, but you might enjoy it as well.

I am working on my doctorate and I must say its not necessarily "hard" but it is challenging. It is very different from the introductory psychology course at the bachelor's level and the semi-intro courses at the master's level. I have obtained and maintained A's and B's throughout my psychological quest but at this level I definitely had to work my a@% off to truly understand the info. It's not all that "common sense" as some people think......

The study of Psychology requires a lot of reading and a good knowledge of charts and graphs. But that is not the most important part, that would be a desire to work with people to help improve their lives.

yes! I hate all the studying of the names of different theologists and their theories. There is so many different theories and methods that it makes my head spin some days. Then you get into the development of the child/adolescent and you have to study the IQ's and all the different ones there. It can get very overwhelming.

it's no harder than history, just a comparison. if you like a subject, then it's easy to learn. just like math and physical science, the same is true. step into the future with me if you will, If you love what you do for a living then you'll never have to work for a living! I like that saying as it is true!!!
