well story is true(about the sinking)
jack and rose however were fictional characters made for the purpose of the movie

Yes there were individuals on the Titanic with those names...whether or not they were actually in love and what happened that night really happend, very unlikely...but the names are real.

they werent real. but the "Unsinkable" Molly Brown was a real character.
