one fix.

1. open control panel
2. click on date, time, language, and regional options
3. click on regional and language options.
4. click on languages tab
5. click details
6. in the installed services click add
7. click Ukrainian
you then should have the Ukrainian keyboard available.

Look for the character map. It's usually in All Programs-> Accessories-> System Tools. Then scroll though the characters and see if you can find the letters you are looking for. You can then copy and paste them, or if you look in the bottom right hand corner, it sometimes will tell you what keys you can press to type that letter. Such as hold alt and type 0241 on the num pad (you have to use the num pad with the num lock on) to type a ñ.

On a laptop without a separate num pad, there are usually a group of letters that also have numbers on them. Turn on the num lock and use those letters as a num pad to type those characters.

I know that it's possible to download various languages that you can switch programs to when typing. I have a friend who's taking Russian and she made online notecards through that method, but I don't know what site she used.

Your question caught my eye because I know a girl in my math class who just recently moved here with her mother from the Ukraine. She got a bit of sweet revenge a few weeks ago when the other girl lamented about how difficult it is to type with a completely different alphabet. : )
