not between the non-mechanics you have heard from as a result a good distance, suggested having the battery load examined once you attempt to recharge it @ 2 amps on an computerized self leveling battery charger. the burden try will tell if it has any reserve amperage skill. Amperage spins starter autos not volts. A battery can seem to be completely charged @ 12.6 volts yet have little or no amperage. After charging the battery @ 2 amps, try each and all the six cells with a $5.00 battery hydrometer from any vehicle areas save. If a variety of of of the six cells assessments low it somewhat is shorted out or ineffective wherein case it's time to spring for a sparkling battery.

A lead acid battery has a voltage of 2.1 volts per cell. A normal 12 volt battery has 6 cells in series giving you 12.6 volts. If you are reading 10.1 volts, then you could have a bad cell in your battery.

I did find an article that demonstrated the change of battery voltage with temperature. Since you did not give a specific temperature, it is difficult to give you a specific answer.

that puppy is toast , anyone that tells you different is not right in the head , 2.2 v/ cell x 6 =13.2 that is the theoretical voltage at 80 f since we don't live in a theoretical world 12 v is fine , that is why alternators charge at 14 v . you probably have a dead cell , get a new battery, clean your cables so they shine and things should be alright in your world ( unless your alternator is shot )

no it does not. Your battery might be low but it can get discharged for two reasons either why running it the alternator is no good and it will drain all the power and last it might me that your battery is no good if it loses energy by its self or you tried to start the car over and over and drained the power

that's a pretty low reading on any battery,,i own a repair shop, and usually i replace them if their that low,id charge it real good before i ruled it bad,but if after a good charge ,,if it still reads this low ,id put one in it,this reading means it has a weak cell in it,it should read at least 12.5 that would be a real good reading on it,,good luck,i hope this help,s some.

It depends. Do you live in a very cold climate, the yes. If it rarely gets below freezing, no.
