I'm planning to buy a new car next year, and i really want to buy an electric car to be environemntally friendly. Are there any other types of environmentally friendly types of cars out there besides electric ones? Also, i don't want a big car. I want it to look nice too. A hatchback preferably,... Any suggestions? Thanks in advance...

the money that you'll spend at the moment on a Hybrid gained't adventure the completed cost of gas you'll keep. the costs for Hybrids are lowering, even though it is going to likely be a touch longer previously the cost is down adequate to make a huge difference. Toyota presented that they are stepping up plans for an electric powered motor vehicle (with somewhat of luck) accessible contained in the subsequent 2 years. Your perfect guess at the moment's to purchase a Toyota, Honda, or a Flex gas motor vehicle (FFV) that runs on ethanol. Toyota and Honda have different perfect vehicles on the marketplace, commonly get large gas milage and extremely last perpetually. An FFV makes use of sparkling burning ethanol which at the moment's about $.50 more less costly in line with gallon that established gas.

Just get a small hatchback - the Prius is nowhere near as environmentally friendly as it claims, the process of producing the batteries releases a lot of toxic pollution and its fuel enconomy is about 45mpg in the real world (for comparison my standard petrol VW Polo 1.2 does about 42mpg)

No such thing as a green car, don't fall into the Prius trap, it's a load of lies. Don't worry about being environmentally friendly, that's load of tosh as well. Get a nice big 4X4, go for comfort and safety every time.
