First, you want to make sure that both the top and bottom numbers of the fraction can be divided in two.... So, mutliply the 3 and the 4 by 2...
3/4 = (3x2) / (4x2) = 6/8
Now you are ready to divide the top number by 2 to get half = 3/8
OR...
If you have to show your work for school....
(3/4) / 2 = (3/4) / (2/1)
When you are dividing with fractions, you flip the top and bottom numbers of the 2nd fraction and turn the division sign into a multipication sign
(3/4) * (1/2)
Now multiply across
(3/4) * (1/2) = 3/8
Goodluck with your homework!

When you see the word "of" in a word problem, this means "multiply".
½ of ¾ = ½ x ¾ = (1 x 3) / (2 x 4) = 3 / 8 = 0.375
