First, you must understand that "truth" is not an actuality, but a concept. "The truth" is whatever you BELIEVE it to be. As an example, if I tell you that the sky is pink, instead of blue, you might say I was lying to you. If, however, I am colorblind, and the sky appears pink to me, then I am telling the truth. If you go into a courtroom and listen to a legal case, both sides claim to be telling the truth, but they are telling two different stories. One side is lying, possibly both sides. The winner of the case is the party who lied the best, and was able to convince a jury or judge that they were telling "the truth". If you are told from the time you learn to speak and understand that the Bible is the true word of God, and you believe it is, then it is the truth. If you do not believe, it is not.

Hi Karen,
This happens to many people who got a thinking mind. To know whether it is true or false u ve 2 read Bible thoroughly and try to understand it with a open mind and then check what ever u read on a practical note.
Bible is not written by god but by humans. So, all that is given in that book may not b true. So, take what ever u think is rational and leave the rest. U read other great books irrespect of religion, region and with out any biases.

Make a note of the positives u come out with and Im sure the book u made a note upon defenitely would be ur BIBLE.

The Bible is a story with instruction, history, prophesy. It is designed to help us with our lives. It doesn't profess the truth, we do.

From Bible I take the life of Christ. Remaining all I read for information, except the book of Revelation. It is a mystery yet and needs to be revealed. There are many interpretations but none of them are worth reading.

About the life of Christ, it is explained through four Gospels. It helps comparison for doubts and errors.

Christ's life is a sign for truth. Initially it is easy to believe. But going deeper into the subject it becomes hard to believe and then impossible to follow for many of us. One who never meets that point of "impossible" in Christ's life is the one who will meet ultimate truth. But this is just the birth of a spiritual child. Then comes the growth........... for this you need to read Bhagawat Geetha the holy book of Hinduism.

I think that those who wrote it believed they were vessels of God. There are some beautiful stories which you can find in other legends worldwide that are much older. Also remember that artists do see themselves as one step from God as are the children. God bless the artists and the children. And the readings are beautiful as God would have wanted them to be. Read them all with an open mind and heart.
