why wont people stop breeding pitbulls?

The dogs dont ask to be bred and the gene pool isnt growing short. they usually lead bad lives for their owners amusement or wealth. so why not nip it in the bud and make it illegal to breed without a breeding licence. and to have a licence you must have a select few dogs and all pups must be neutered by new owners this should be by law tell me what u think

NO WAY, its all how you bring them up I've know one and it is that gentle,,,, yes i believe that something should be done but only as far as anyone with a pitbull should have a license because they ARE a beautiful animal, what your saying is that HUMANS have the right to play god (by the way im not religious) and decide what will live and wot wont...no way its totally against me.....i no they are nice animals because my friend has 2(Male n Female) and just had a litter pups too... she takes the dogs down the beach OFF the leash (just like any other dog breed)they go up to other dogs and have a sniff as the other dog does and when she calls them they come straight back....and really humans including u n i and all other people have no right to say stuff like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why wont people stop breeding any dogs?
The breeding license is a FANTASTIC idea! This would mean only qualified individuals could breed! No more back yard breeders...If that is it would not bring up the value of a pup therefor costing more.

As for pitbull they are dogs, I think this is a all dog question....

It shouldnt be pitbulls only, it should be ALL dogs. Until the population is under control, there needs to be a halt on breeding except for breeders who are out to better the breeds and fix all the mistakes that people have made with bad breeding. Don't just single out the pits

The problem is that we as a society are not ready to pay the additional taxes that would be involved in creating a regulatory body to control that sort of thing. You'd have to pay for the government to issue licenses, investigate violations, and punish them.

Not to mention, plenty of the people breeding dogs for viciousness would just get licenses to breed, unless you spent a LOT of money on regulating AND investigating the breeders.

As long as the market is there for a dog bred to fight or be mean, someone will find a way to provide that.

All some scumbags care about is making money. Not just pitbull backyard breeders but ALL backyard breeders. They don't care about their dogs they just want to make money and right now the hoodlums think pitbulls make them look tough and then there are the Paris Hilton wannabees who have to have a small dog. Whatever is popular those scumbags will breed just to make money.THEY should be nuetered to end their idiot genes from being bred.

because pit bulls are a very beautiful sweet breed of dog. And it is not the BREED that makes it bad it is all of the bad training when it was young and the abuse from the owners, therefore makes them territorial and aggressive. Plus, it isn't just pit bulls that are "bad" there are a lot of dog breeds that are prone to becoming aggressive. like:

-Doberman
-Rottweiler
-Dalmation

but these are accually good dogs if raised correctly.

and also, sometimes the owners don't mean to get pups but they sure are lucky since they have such a sweet breed :)

Pitbulls scar me. I don't go near them and I don't want them near me. I think something should be done with the people who use them for the sport of dog fighting. That is very cruel thing to do to a Pitbull, in fact any dog for that matter. I think it's because of this that the dogs have a bad reputation. Concerning Pitbulls, and for the people who love them, they will tell you that it depends how the dogs are raised. But still, they were bred to be aggressive.

Well, I think that you have just been mislead, Pitbulls are sweet, gentle animals. They usually get violent by owners mistreating them. It is not just they're violent personality. People think that pitbulls are going to be violent so they dont love them or care for them which are two things that make a great loving pet!!

Why should they stop breeding them. They make wonderful family pets. Its when they fall into the wrong hands they become mean. Its not the dogs fault but the owners. Breeders should be a little more responsible to who they sell their puppies to. Any dog can be mean it just the stupid people doing that for fighting and other crap. Besides you have more of a chance to get bit by a little dog than a big dog. So instead of blaming the dog blame the person behind the dog!!!!

I AGREE! I think people should be licensed to breed ANY dog. But pit bulls especially. I love pit bulls to death. People who think they are vicious killers are ignorant. They are very loving animals. The only reason you see mean ones are because of 1) inbreeding.. and 2) Stupid owners who want a vicious dog, or want to fight their dog. And because of this, the people who want a mean pit bull, or abuse their pit bull, i think you should have to be licensed to breed dogs. And those who are licensed need to find good homes for their dogs. But i already know this will never happen, it is too hard to control. But i sure would be nice. And.... i love pit bulls.
